The Festival of Mahj Tables
Christmas Mahj at the Creek will feature 20–22 individually designed Mahjong tablescapes, all created and provided by HIM Food Bank through generous donors, sponsors and Mahjong companies.
These aren’t traditional dinner tablescapes. Each will be a beautiful, fully functional Mahjong table, incorporating a coordinated.

No two tables will be alike.
Approximately half will feature Christmas and holiday themes , while the remaining tables will showcase distinctive non-holiday themes and styles, from Texas and western to chinoiserie, coastal, garden, equestrian and other creative designs.
Tablescape Competition
Every completed table will be entered into the evening’s Festival of Mahj Tables Competition .
Guests will have an opportunity to view the tables before play begins, and the tablescapes will be judged for:
- Overall Visual Impact
- Creativity & Originality
- Coordination of Mahjong Elements
- Theme Execution
- Functionality for Play
- 1st Place Best in Show
- 2nd Place
- 3rd Place
- People’s Choice Award
A People’s Choice Award will give every attendee a vote, giving 80–88 guests a reason to walk around the room and take in all 20–22 tables before play begins.
And Some Tablescapes Can Go Home With You
When donated items do not need to be returned to the contributing sponsor or company, select complete tablescapes, or their featured Mahjong sets and accessories, may be included in the evening’s auction.
That gives sponsors another level of exposure while turning the tables themselves into an additional opportunity to support HIM.
