Harvesting In Mansfield (HIM Food Bank) is both a food bank and food pantry meaning we serve both clients who go through a simple application process to receive food AND we provide food in bulk (500lbs – 8,000lbs) to over 100 churches and other nonprofit organizations for them to distribute all over North Texas.
HIM served approximately 215,000 people in 2023 with approximately 10 million pounds of food donated and purchased from our wonderful partners who include Frito-Lay, Niagara Water, Wal-Mart Distribution, Panera Bread, and many more partners. In addition, we work with Common Ground, Rush Creek Church, Venus ISD, Rio Vista ISD, Arlington ISD, Fort Worth ISD, Granbury ISD, and many other school districts in supporting their efforts with both backpacks for kids and the summer sack programs. In 2023, we provided full Thanksgiving meals to over 2,500 families in need and Christmas meals and toys to over 500 families.
2023 has brought a high inflation rate that has not been seen in 40 years. Food is one of the single most inflated household expense that is impacting families. The increase in families needing grocery assistance has increased by 35% this year.
In 2024, HIM Food Bank continued to be a beacon of hope and self-sufficiency for the community, providing vital resources to children, families, and seniors. Through the generosity of our partners like Frito-Lay, Niagara Water, and Panera Bread, and our ability to purchase bulk pallets of healthy groceries, we distributed millions of pounds of nutritious food to those in need.
Our programs grew in impact, with partnerships supporting initiatives such as school backpack programs, self-sufficiency courses and the launch of our innovative Grub Hub online food pantry, ensuring high school students and their families had access to healthy groceries.
Despite rising food costs and inflation, we responded to a 35% increase in families seeking assistance, providing Thanksgiving and Christmas meals to hundreds of families, along with toys for children during the holiday season.
As we reflect on 2024, we are filled with gratitude for our donors, partners, and volunteers who made it possible to serve the growing needs of our community with compassion, dignity, and hope.

Our History
Harvesting In Mansfield was founded in 1987 in El Paso, Texas, as White Harvest Ministries. Our goal was simple; provide hot meals to the homeless. Today, our name has changed and we have relocated our corporate office to Mansfield Texas, but our goal remains the same; feed hungry children, families, and seniors. In addition to our current programs and services we have also been a valuable resource with community disaster response In events such as the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the Haltom City tornadoes, Oklahoma flooding and hurricane Gustav. Most recently in 2019 we supported over 350 families who were severely affected by the government shutdown.
The H.I.M. Food Bank is a non-profit agency as designated by the IRS: section 501(c)3. We rely on the generous contributions of faithful friends, local businesses, and corporate donors who share our vision of feeding the hungry.
